Describe your game

In my game, you are a young bat who has lost his group of bats when they were hunting for insects. Your main goal is to find all the bugs in the area and continue finding the bugs untill you find your home. (It may sound weird but it will make sense once you play it.) To controle your character, you must use the mouse and the arrow keys together in order to survive. The background will be very faint for it will be covered over a black coat of.......black. In my game, due to the game screen being shrouded in black, everything will be hidden from the rocks, the ground, the obsticals and the hidden objects, which are the insects you must find.

Now, your probaly wondering, "How will I know where I'm going!?!" The answer silly goose is that everything will have a sound! For example, if you're around a rock obstical and you scroll your mouse over it, it'll make the sound of falling rocks, so that way you'll know to avoid the obstical. This same gaming mechanic is for the hidden objects too. You will be searching for certain objects, in this case, insects, so when you scroll over an insect, it will make a sound. Now, before a level, you'll hear and see the insects you'll incounter, what they are and some facts about the insect. Then, you'll see the insects you'll need to find by hearing (you'll scroll over the item(insect) to hear it.) Don't worry, there will be a list so when you scroll over the insects name, you'll hear the sound. Now, there will not be much color in the game, for everything (Except you) will be covered in a dense black coat. You can see the stuff, but it will be very difficult to see, so I'd stick to the echolocation gaming mechanic. There will be animations, like if you could see really hard, my plan is that every game will have a secret animation  and that you have to use echolocation to find it. An other animation could be the character, it's wings flapping. Now that you got the gist of the game, there will be 'bout an estimate of 1-4 levels. This is a number for debate. There will be more levels, but that depends on the amount of time I have. This is my game. I hope I can finish it and I hope one day it can be made!

Choose your learning topic

Name of the topic you picked:  I am choosing to do Adaptation Through Evolution by using the example of Bats using Echolocation.

Name of the website: Organization for Bat Conservation

Link:  Here is the link: Right 'her

Author of the resources:
Shannon Currie

Date it was made: ??/??/2012

Date you found it: 12/07/12

Fact 1:Bats are the only known mammal to actually "fly" instead of gliding like most "flying" mammals. They are closely related to shrews and moles and like previously said, are the only known mammals to "fly".

Fact 2: Bats, unlike birds, do not flap their entire arm(or limb) but simply use their fingers, which resemble our fingers but are way longer  and are webbed with skin that allows them to achieve flight.

Fact 3: Bat fingers are like humans, but are more flexible than human fingers and are also kinda flat allowing them to fly more easily.

Fact 4: You can own bats as pets, but that is probably not a good idea. They are the main source of rabies and can take a lot of attention.

Fact 5: Bats cover themselves to conserve heat.

Describe what kind of objects you could hide for this game: My game would have bugs, special types of plants and animals.
Describe what you game scene might look like: My game would be in a forest and the screen is really dark. The player would be an animal and would be using echolocation and smell to find out what is where and to find certain objects like the noise of the frog, or the smell of a banana plant. To further explain: You would see the name of an animal, it's cry, and it's name. Then, in the game, if you scroll over the animal button hidden in darkness, you would hear the cry and then you would find the animal and/or plant. For plant, it would be represented by a color.

Danger of a single story

Having a single story means that you only believe what you want to believe. This means that you won't listen to others and that you will only agree to people who have the same opinion as you do. Having a single story is dangerous. It could be bad for you. You would be preventing yourself from exploring other things. This is bad for your head. Be open to others opinion. Just because someone has different doesn't mean anything. Now it's not always our fault. The media shows us things that causes us to think bad things about other people. Others are like us. We may look different and show things differently, but we are almost the same. There is only one single story I can remember, well...2. 1) My family thinks that white people are snobs, rich, spoiled people who get whatever they want. The other I won't explain due to the description my family uses. Now it's not always our fault. The media shows us things that causes us to think bad things about other people. Others are like us. We may look different and show things differently, but we are almost the same.

Endangered animals October the 26, 2012

Endangered animals in Texas. First, endangered means from the dictionary"threatened with extinction." Now, there are 94 endangered plants and animals in Texas. Some examples are the Grey Wolf, Finback Whale, Texas Kangaroo Rat and more, but these are just the animals. There are plants that are endangered too. There is the Large-fruited Sand-Verbena, the South Texas Ambrosia, the Star Cactus and many more!
Now, how they got endangered? Well, there are multiple ways an animal or a plant can become endangered.  and we are the number one cause. Animals die because we destroy the animal's habitats. Doing this destroys the animal's home, food supplies or resources and if they are a predator, it destroys their prey. We also kill animals for our selfish need for the "Hottest" fashion accessories and clothing such as purses made of Alligator/Crocodile skin or scarves made of Foxes. We are the main reason that animals are endangered but we are also the solution! We can save important areas filled with endangered animals and keep them safe from harm and thoughs dreaded killers of nature, poachers! Together, we can stop this cause and make the world with beautiful animals and restore the ballance of nature!
